My Color Place
For teachers, librarians and after-school rooms

Color the page. Then play inside it.

Free for a class. No account, no ads, and we never ask for a child's name, email, photo or location. This month's free books are free to color, every page, and every other book has a free page to try. Every game is free to play.

What stays free
  • All of the games, the Art Studio, Create a Story, every page of this month's free books, and at least one online coloring page from every other book.
  • Nothing to install. It opens in the browser on a library computer or a class set of tablets.
  • The Club ($5 a month) is for families at home. You do not need it for a class, and children are not asked to buy anything on the first screen.
🛡️ School and library standards we aim to meet

We work to meet the U.S. rules that schools and libraries look for. We have not been certified or reviewed by these agencies, and they do not endorse My Color Place.

  • COPPA, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). We built the site so we don't collect personal information from children: no accounts, and we never ask for a name, email, photo, age or location.
  • CIPA, the Children's Internet Protection Act, from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). CIPA is a rule for schools and libraries, and we're built to fit inside it: no chat, no ads, no way for strangers to reach a child, and outside links stop at a grown-ups question. Free mode below also turns off live cams, AI pictures and buying.
  • FERPA, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, from the U.S. Department of Education. We never ask for student names or school records, so no student records come to us.

The details are on our privacy page.

Classroom and library settings

For parents, teachers and librarians

You decide what kids can use here. Every switch asks a grown-ups question first and is saved only on this device. Nothing is sent to us, and you don't need an account.

Everything is on unless you turn it off. Turn off just one thing, like the live cams, or tap Turn all off (free mode) to switch off everything that costs money or leaves the site: live cams, AI pictures, game making, the Club and buying books. Kids keep the free coloring pages, this month's free books, all of our games, Create a Story, Art Studio and our free picture library.

  • Parents and families: turn off only what you don't want on your child's tablet or computer, or use free mode. You can change it any time.
  • Teachers: turn on free mode on each classroom device, so the whole class uses only the free side. Print any page from this month's free books under Free printables. There's nothing to sign up for.
  • Librarians: turn on free mode on library computers, so every child gets the same free set with nothing to buy and no outside videos.

What you can check: a small "🌱 Free mode" note shows at the bottom of the screen when everything is off. Buy buttons, prices, Club buttons and live cams are gone, and Create a Page uses only our own pictures. Settings stay in this browser; clearing the browser turns everything back on.

Setting up a room of computers? Open mycolorplace.com/?freemode=on once on each one. That link can only turn things off, never on.

We never ask for a child's name or age, and free pages and free books never ask for an email or a sign-up.

Free printables

Print any page from this month's free books to keep a class busy. Pick a book, then tap Print under a page. Nothing to sign up for, and we don't ask who you are.

What a librarian can check

A note you can forward

My Color Place is a free coloring-and-play site for about ages 6 to 10. Kids color a page, then play a two-minute game inside it. No account, no ads, and it does not ask for a child's name. Three links that work well on a shared computer: Art Studio (mycolorplace.com/play/studio), Flamingo Fishing (mycolorplace.com/play/flamingo), and this page (mycolorplace.com/teachers).
